well, what a week that has been. as we just celebrated easter on sunday, i feel i've had my own resurrection (on a much smaller scale, perhaps and not quite as newsworthy). i think this is the first week in oh 14 weeks that i've actually felt decent. the last two months in particular have been the hardest, because i hadn't mentioned this, but the hubs has been traveling and this week he was actually home, the WHOLE week. he's been gone the last two months, only coming home on weekend and then the last stint was two full weeks. we survived, thankfully with lots of help from grandma's and uncles! but it stunk. it stunk being apart, but it stunk feeling crappy and not having your official partner there to make sure the world didn't unravel...it officially didn't, but felt that way some days.
our house is a disaster and we're still trying to find our way out of that, but this week, i made a dent and i felt like that might be something newsworthy, in my book anyway. all apart of my resurrection back into my life.
the last year we've introduced our doodle to the potty, no pushing and at 2 1/2 he still had no desire. still no pushing on our end and baby happened and i really had no desire to even think about it. last week he asked me if he could wear the underwear he got for xmas? really?
"are you sure?" this requires me finding several additonal pair of pants to take to school plus lots of underwear and who has even mentioned the continual effort to get him to the potty? hmmm...mom isn't ready. boy is.
so we tried it and first day didn't go so bad, second day was awesome and by day four he was having no accidents. ok, so officially boy ready. yesterday was day 11 and it was another accident free day. we celebrated with ice cream! i actually went somewhere after dinner. (another big milestone!)
oh did i mention i also ate dinner. the hubs cooked most of it, but i premade the pasta salad the night before (i PREMADE) something and it was the best homemade meal we've had in weeks. we grilled out to celebrate the sudo-warm weather, it reached low 50s. good enough for me. and as if the day couldn't get any better, my doodle actually ate the hamburger. the picky eater who refuses meat (except bacon and sausage) ate all but 2 bites of the burger.
maybe it wasn't me who was having the resurrection, maybe its actually him. i think overnight he turned 3 and didn't tell us.
a fantastic week. i had my hubs home (for now....next week could be different), potty training continues to be a success, i've felt decent, the warm weather appears to be approaching-yipee!
oh, the biggest news of the week, is i made it half way. yes the 20 week mark! hard to believe. little baby continues to be a bit more active each day and according to my stomach, appears to be getting bigger and bigger. the wonder of who that little person is in there, continues to work my brain. boy or girl? brown eyes, green eyes or maybe blue? what will their name be? (a question that works my brain daily...will i ever come up with something we both like?) are they healthy? (this worries me the most, i have my ultrasound in two weeks, so i guess i'll feel better once that happens) we aren't planning on finding out the gender and i have reasons for wanting both, but its already decided; so why not wait a few more weeks. its only a few, right? ;)
