the last 10 weeks

ok, so i sorta left you hanging in that last post, eh?  sorry.

can you believe i was pregnant two weeks later?  YEP!  miracles do happen, especially when those tubes are clear!  i could hardly believe the el cheapo pregnancy test that i took; so i went out and bought 3 more, i took another and called the doctor.  the nurse urged me not to waste anymore and just go ahead and come in for a blood test.

they called me later that day to confirm and set me up for an ultrasound two weeks later.  our biggest concerns were (a) the location of the baby, after the surgery i had, there was more chance that a tubal pregnancy could occur and (b) just how many babies had made themselves at home in there.

i was worried the most about (a) and the hubs was worried most about (b).  not that twins or more wouldn't have freaked me out, but having to make a decision to terminate if the location wasn't ideal seemed a much bigger worry.

in the end the baby was exactly where it was supposed to be and there was only one.  wins all around!  i spent the next two weeks zippipty dodadding around.  best mood ever, walking on water, and then week 6 hit and like clockwork the morning sickness had arrived.  for a couple of weeks it was all day sickness, then after some meds from the doc i got the daytime under control and was able to function at work; but once night time hit there wasn't much to help, except sleep.  so started my new bedtime of 8pm.  the little boys and i pretty much go to bed at the same time now.  the best part about it, is that i don't feel sick when i am sleeping.  it's been a long 10 weeks.  lot's of crying, lots of praying, more crying, more praying.

my hubby and family have put up with a lot.  there were days i wasn't sure i was going to make it through. it seems silly now, but when you've felt that sick for so long it wears on you.  when you have the flu or you eat too much or drink too much, it eventually goes away.  you puke a few times and you feel better, usually within a day.  this doesn't end...and i felt so alone.

a few weeks ago i could actually drink plain water again, i didn't need 4 lemons or to add lemon juice to get it down.  i also didn't feel the need to eat something every hour or so.  i didn't eat much, but i always felt like i had to have something so my belly wouldn't feel empty.  honestly, after awhile i got tired of eating.  nothing sounded appetizing and just when i would find something that seemed to work, a few days later i couldn't stand it.

i try to remind myself that this is a small blip in my life, in this pregnancy.  each week i make it through is a small victory to me and little baby #3.
