the story continues
if you've been following my kman birth story, you remember i was put on bedrest right after thanksgiving in 2006. (catch up here and here) by 12/13/06 i was still surviving, i marked down that i worked 3 hours that day and that pretty much seemed to be the norm. i worked 2-4 hours daily, had my regularly scheduled weekly doctors appointments (this particulary week i hit 37 weeks) and typically at the end of the week i was sent for a stress test and ultrasound. those last few weeks i had a ton of ultrasounds with a squishy face baby. as the baby grows the ultrasounds almost get worse because there just isn't any room in the womb for the baby to move around.
i am sure by now the hubs had had enough of my whining. i felt fine so the confinment of the couch was a little boring. beyond working i really only had tv. i was thankful for the visitors i had, most stopped by at lunch time which was great and made the days go by quickly.
i was sleeping horribly, i don't think pregnant women sleep well anyway (God and i have a few things to discuss when i meet him-this is one of them...) and nick at night became my friend. the hubs and i were sleeping in seperate rooms which has worked out for us in both pregnancies, so atleast one of us gets a good night sleep (unforunately, in my opinion it is the wrong one of us) :)
our little baby was continuing to get bigger and the bedrest was helping the pre-eclampsia stay at bay.
at this point i still had 19 days until my due date and i honestly didn't think i'd mentally make it. i was so over being pregnant and i was so ready to meet my little one. (we still didn't have a girl name finalized and i am sure i was having crazy pregnant nightmares that our baby would forever be nameless).
that coming up weekend we had dinner scheduled with friends and it was one of my only outings (ok a couple of trips to target, a haircut and possibly a massage and manicure had happened in that time as well). instead of dinner out they cooked us dinner and it was nice and it was nice that i showered and got dressed to go somewhere besides my own couch. ahhh...bliss!
