i am pretty sure i totally jinxed myself yesterday with that blurb about hoping everything goes smooth and i rock again all day-it didn't happen.  the day was good-i did make it to the gym and stretched ALOT (not 30 minutes) but enough to feel like my back was in way better shape.  the couple of items i did get marked off my list were much needed-but it was only like 1 or 2 things-a ton of open ended items still looming.

i stopped on the way home to pick up an ice cream cake for work (only to find out today that the receipent of the cake is out of the office-ugh...could have told me-oh well...worse things could have happened like dropping one of the cakes-which i almost did..oops!)  i also ran into krogers to pick up some items we needed for dinner (hubs made yummy yummy fajitas for us-LOVED them!) and all the ingredients for doodle's practice bday cake.  after dinner i got kman started on a mother's day project (which actually turned out pretty well-i was a bit worried).  these are easy to do and cost like nothin'!

kman did a great job keeping in the lines, i did paint the angels face for him and the edging, but he did everything else on his own.  (i need to come up with a way to "seal" them...so they can be used outside in a garden.) 
(i did make kman take off his shirt, because it was a newer one and i knew for sure he'd use it as the perfect place to wipe his painted little fingers-we need a smock!)  ha-ha

while kman worked on these i got started on baking the cakes.  to get my desired look, i had to buy new cake pans (which i am now not impressed with); they don't have a non-stick coating like my normal pans and even though i greased & floured them the bottoms the cake completely stuck to the pan-which isn't good because the bottom of the cake is where it's at-ugh.  i am making a 3 layer cake and the bottom layer (the biggest layer) wasn't even completely cooked all the way through (UGH!)   so upset!  i did however get my icing made-which hopefully will be enough for my next practice cake and the actual cake for the party.  it was so late when i actually got finished last night-that i left the cakes in the pans and went to bed-so if you hearing me screaming at your house later on this evening-you know its just because i am cleaning out my cake pans.  i am actually afraid to try to use them again (can i return them now that i've used them?  i am so disappointed!)  realizing much worse things could happen-but still...i may give it one more go round this weekend.

once i did get into bed i started coughing and literally coughed for what seemed like hours-cough syrup-cough drops-nothing was working.  i was so exhausted when our nearly tornado like storms came through that i didn't hear them.  (thankfully everyone is ok!  our grill traveled across the deck-but thankfully we didn't have any damage.)  here's to hoping my spring cough moves on...
