today i am celebrating my 3rd anniversary with my company. i really just don't know where the time has gone. i think back to february 2008 when hubs and i were contemplating whether or not this would be the right move for me. i remember sitting in the living room of our old house and making a list of pros and cons. in the end we decided the change was best.
some of the hardest things i've ever had to do came in the weeks following...i think putting my notice in at EM was one of the hardest things i've EVER done in my entire life. it took me a whole week to muster up the courage to tell my boss and even then i barely made it through the resignation without crying. tears of hurt, tears of the unknown, tears of being afraid, tears of missing some of the people that had become my bestest friends in the 8 years that i worked there. i am thankful that i've kept up with the folks that mean the most to me from there.
of course now that i've been here for 3 years now, i've made new friends-but only a few that i would compare to the strong friendships i had at EM-that's ok though...in return i've been graced with other fortunes. my move wasn't about money...but my compensation has far outweighed anything i would have received previously, in less than 3 years i was promoted and believe it or not my stress level is much lower? =) the best part about working here is even though i don't have much patient contact, almost none-in some small way i am helping the families that show up here everyday. its a great facility and we are blessed to have it.
happy anniversary to me!
saturday morning we have our family pictures and i am freaking out about what we'll wear. i have doodle's outfits ready to go (i think) since he's the star of the show-but i am struggling with our fam portraits. hubs will tell you that this happens every time we get our pictures taken and in the end they always turn out looking good..but until we are sitting there getting snapped i am a complete mess. UGH. i know there are worse things to get flustered about.
