someone's party is coming up...

this saturday we'll be celebrating kman's birthday....its nine days shy of his actual birthday but this year we decided to go ahead and do it a bit early and miss some of the last minute christmas hustle and bustle.  i've been so engrossed in the millions of other things i've had going on and i am ashamed to admit that the party hasn't quite been a priority.  thankfully, i had booked the venue months ago...yes back in august i guess-but so glad now because i've had so much going on that i would have been sinking faster than i was.  i dabbled with making him a cake and then i thought back to the cake i made for doodle, the end result was awesome-but much time and money later.  so...we ordered a cookie cake from sam's.  last year we did the same and it turned out fine, actually quite yummy and its a decent size and an excellent price.  i think around $15.00 (can't beat that with a stick!)

last years cake from sam's

this year we have a new theme...its a bit more sports related since we're having the party at a local sports venue.  kman decided on it after a couple of weeks of discussion.

regardless we don't have a ton to do for saturday, mainly just food.  i threw the menu together quickly on sunday and we hit the store.  last night before i picked up the kids i stopped by the grocery to pick up my last few items and i feel somewhat more prepared.

oh did i mention i invited like 27 kids, plus oodles of adults and my party count is for 20 kids.  i of course figured everyone wouldn't be able to make it.  um i haven't heard from a single parent at the daycare school...seriously they are all coming?  really?  i don't believe it.  i guess i'll just "pretend" its true.  if so, let the great one help us all....27 kiddos running around crazy.  AHHHHHHH......  it will be fun and kman will have the best birthday ever, according to him.  last year after his bday and xmas he was counting down.  now its here already.  i won't even think about saying "where does the time go?"  i'll just quietly think it to myself.
