oohhh...the bliss of mother's day is over; sadly-because Mary said say.
i won't lie and say that my mother's day was the most perfect day ever but hubs did a good job of being extra specially nice to me (dinner and breakfast out and he cooked dinner last night-some gosh darn yummy fajitas!) and i got to love and hug my kiddos-um without whom this mother's day wouldn't have been possible =). it really is a celebration for all of us; i told kman that he made me a mommy and he said "nut-uh, you did!" ok, well...i guess i had a little more of a hand in it than he did; but he arrived and we'll leave it at that! i spent my afternoon ALONE thrifting! it was LOVELY; thank you dear!
i didn't end up with my car packed to the hilt with undiscovered treasures just waiting to be revived; but i got a few odds and ends and came home with the inspiration to continue cleaning up my own basement. i needed to start with my "annual clothes switch" so i started putting my winter sweaters away...hopefully i haven't jinxed us...and ended up with a HUGE pile of things i haven't worn all winter and will most likely not wear ever again...so they be moving on. my hope is to get the boys "switched" this week-i had already started, but because our weather has been so up and down i can't really send them to school in shorts yet and some days have been down right chilly...hopefully we've reached a turning point (fingers crossed x)
i probably could have stayed up all night working in the basement; sometimes you just get in that mode-unfortunately 10:00pm on sunday night isn't the most appopriate time-but these days it seems hubs and i just need to take it when we can get it. the mojo down there needs to be ORGANIZATION!
ok, so i need to share this funny story (or maybe not so funny story...) at dinner yesterday our conversation ventured onto the upcoming arrival of babies of people we know that are pregnant. kman knows my bff "s" is having a baby and i was sharing with hubs the names that she has chosen (they don't know the sex). i asked kman if he would like me have another baby like auntie "s"?
me: "would you like mommy to have another baby?"
kman: "no"
me: "wouldn't you like a sister? or another brother like bubby?"
kman: "no!"
me: "why not?"
kman: "because Mary and God said no?"
me: "huh? um....what?"
kman: "God said no!"
at this point both hubs and i have this stunned look on our face, like "what the heck?"
hubs: "who is Mary?"
kman: "Mary from down the street" (ok, i had discussed "Mary" from across the street that morning in a totally different context...but still unsure why he would bring up "Mary" from across the street in the same context as God and why "Mary from across the street" would care if i decided to have another baby-now "Mary Mother of Jesus" is a completely different animal)
umm...ok the subject of whether or not we want to have another baby or will is still up for discussion at our house and no decisions have been made; but after this i think it's obvious how God, Mary and kman feel. hubs' "not extrememly partial one way or the other" attitude quickly went to the side of God, Mary and kman...
i sit perplexed! sadly, we haven't been to church in a few weeks-so kman wouldn't have picked up anything from the children's liturgy...my next stop is the daycare school. they do add in some bible stories now and again and i am thinking they might have discussed something while they were working on their mother's day gifts, but at this point i can't be sure. hmm..... funny or not? we'll just leave it at "interesting!"
