we are just busy living day to day. happy february 1st!
the hubs had to travel yesterday, but thankfully he got on the road and was home just as we were sitting down to dinner. unfortunately, i had planned a not so favorite meal for him, but my boys loved it. i've really been trying to branch out a bit with my cooking. somethings have worked out, others not so great. yesterday, i did a broccoli pasta. two items my kids LOVE, the hubs on the other hand is not a huge fan of the broccoli, but i think he even ate a few pieces. the butter, olive oil, garlic and cheese helped to make it somewhat edible on his end :)
a few things on my list that i've been working:
~new dishes, i think i've mentioned...after looking for oh over a year or so. i FINALLY ordered a set. they aren't anything or fancy...but i got a lot of pieces and i am hopeful that they'll last a good long time. if they seem like crap, we'll take them back and start all over again :)
~painting my bedroom/master bath and finally our hallways and foyer. this is a definate must! i haven't hung anything up in those areas because i knew we wanted to paint. i found curtains for my bedroom almost a year ago and they are waiting patiently in the bag hoping to get used one day. we are still debating on whether we'll be the ones to do the painting or not. the hubs is convinced we can manage the two story foyer on our own. i am still iffy...but he's been right a time or two before (i have those two times jotted down, so i'll remember them!). i think if i got these two places off my mind, i'd feel like i was ahead of the game somehow.
~finishing the basement. this isn't necessarily my project. the hubs has been the mastermind behind this idea and hopefully we'll make it a reality. you know for the man cave and all! i actually might score an office/craft/keep all my crap area out of the deal...but i am trying not to take over the space, so there is plenty of room for manly stuff, like a bar and a litrine.
eventually, it will all get done. it might take a bit of time, but it all happens, right.
