this coming weekend our country will come together to remember the morning of sept 11, 2001.
everyone can remember what they were doing and where they were when the news started to break about what was going on...how could this happen? who did this? there were so many unanswered questions.
i can't tell you the feelings i experienced then...i remember being in shock, i remember being afraid that more could happen. i remember being glued to the television for days and then feeling like i just couldn't watch anymore. i just couldn't feel the gloom that the disaster brought anymore.
here we are 10 years later. here i am 10 years later.
this past weekend hubs and i started watching all of the rememberance specials on the television. i had to try and explain to my 4.5 year old why an airplane crashed into a building; why two of them crashed into these tall buildings and why the buildings fell down. i know he can't mentally understand and probably he's forgotten all about it by now-but i haven't. i haven't forgotten the hurt and sadness i feel knowing how many wonderful people died that day. they got up to go to work just like any normal day. they were just doing what they were supposed to do and suddenly disaster strikes. why? why? why?
being a parent changes things and suddenly you know how fragile and perfect life is all at the same time.
let us not forget the extraordinary people that lost their lives and remember their families as they experience that horrific day over and over again.
be blessed and thankful for each day!
