Monday, August 1

hello august

august 1st already...sadness looms as i remember its the last month of summer.  i promise i won't complain about the heat because i know it will be gone soon.

so for whatever reason i've got the decorating bug-which is much needed because our house is still so empty when it comes to color and art on the walls...last fall i painted the walls in our family room, kitchen and eat in area and i am still working on finding art, i purchased curtains back in the spring and FINALLY got around to buying the curtain rods for them a week or so ago-hopefully they'll come in this week and my darling husband can hang them for me.  at this point...i still hope we like them.  (i don't think it matters-because i think they are going up regardless!)
i did find an adorable mirror for one of the empty walls in there.

my biggest dilemna is the above the couch area-its such a huge empty space and i've been wrestling with it for awhile-i think my partial hesitation not to finish the space was because i haven't found the perfect piece yet.   well...friends, "i think" i might have found it.   yesterday as i stopped by the "vintage/thrift market" in loveland (one of my favorite little spots to shop and donate)  i saw this old wooden screen door and immedialtely i thought of using it over my couch.  ugh....but will it work?  will it be the piece i've been searching for?  the room isn't any sort of label-we're a bit of comtemporary traditional and if it seems like it works-then we go with it.  i think greg has a hard time picturing it and i am hopeful it will be the warmth and one of kind piece i've been searching for.

more to come...i've got to find the time to get back there-since she's only open until 5:30pm and find out what if any/is the return policy-should my touch of brillance (yeah right) not end up being all i am expecting it to be.

mind you-all of this goings on is happening because i am supposed to start my downstairs bathroom upgrade in sept.  we purchased a new vanity right before vacation, so i've got to find the faucet (did you know they made so many styles and colors? geez-its enough to make anyone batty!), pick the color and all of the final touches:  new towels, hardware and decorations...but somehow my family room peeked back in there-my brain is a mess i tell you!  can you just say what a saint greg is?  really?  oh and did i mention i picked up a picture for the boys bathroom?  wasn't even on the radar :~)  ha..ha...

carpe' diem people!
