saturday was a
kman and i started the day with a couple of trips to my favorite thrift stores. he of course has no interest in this; but our first stop-the shop owner keeps a couple of finches and so he likes watching the birds and thankfully they had a nice little kids area set up with coloring. it atleast gave me the opportunity to browse without worrying that he might break something.
i picked up a couple of frames for use on later projects-which i got for a steal. (i have a super cute idea...just wait!) one of the employees recalls me; you know i am the crazy lady who wants to hang the screen door over her couch (yet-to be done...in the works though!) and so he worked a bargain for me without being asked. :~) love him!!!
next stop the good ole' gw. this saturday it was 50% off day so the store was packed and unfortunately we didn't purchase anything-but i saw this lovely...i texted the pick to the hubs and unfortunately he doesn't see the beauty in it. i imagine it being painted bright white and maybe some new hardware...unfortunately i have no place for this-even with its small stature i have no wall wide enough or deep enough for it. (it would have only been $30 buckkos-just needs some tlc!)
(don't you love kman sitting next to it-he's having a ball, huh?) he found this lacrosse racket in the toy area and i was hoping and praying that he wouldn't hit anyone or anything with it.
our ultimate stop was a local production of "peter pan" put on by school age kids-so on our way there i knew we'd pass another gw...so we rushed in.
i did score here on a few items, (i'll show you those later as well) but look at this awesome office chair they had there. it was in excellent shape and i know we'll kick ourselves later for not picking it up-but its just not on my rador right now. we have two perfectly nice office chairs at home-so i just couldn't justify it to myself.
hopefully it finds a good home!
we had a great time at "peter pan". the production was awesome. the little gal who played peter was only 8...so talented.
rush back home to get ready for my dinner with the hubs to celebrate our anniversary.
we had dinner at a local winery: two bottles of wine, four desserts (well we sampled them all!), great conversation and an awesome meal. a treasured evening for sure!
(it was a tiny bit dark in there...but you get the idea!) :~)
