tornado warnings again last night...the storms actually ending up being north of us; so once we all trucked down to the basement and got the tv on; we realized it wasn't going to actually effect us-so we headed back upstairs. i must admit it was much easier when doodle was sleeping. he's not much for sitting in one place very long. (like more than 5 seconds!) i know its just the time of year; but i've been two miles away from tornado devistation before (recalling the tornados of 1999) and it scares me even more as i hold my little ones close. this week makes me realize that we don't have much in the way of emergency supplies in our basement either. so maybe in the next day or so-we need to work on that? i also worry that we might not be able to hear the sirens in the middle of the night. i think an investment in a weather radio would be wise.
on a lighter note i realized that we only have 32 days until vacation-YIPEE! i am so excited, i seriously cannot wait. i've taken a few mini trips (long weekends) but we haven't been on an actual vacation since kman was 9 months old. we've been so busy the last few summers getting ready to move, moving, saving our money to move, moving again and oh having another baby somewhere in there...we just didn't plan a vacation. i used what little vacation i had (down fall from job move) to move and then during my maternity leave. thankfully my promotion a few months ago got me another week of vacation so i can actual take a real gosh darn pack up the car, the kids and all the gear-don't forget the hubby and head out VACATION. (can you sense my excitement here? hubs is actually excited about it as well~he's not a vacation guy like me...but he needs to get away too. it does a body good!)
anywho...now that my countdown has begun i really need to start thinking about all the stuff we need to take, what i need to buy (bathing suit...ugh!) and get my butt in gear on getting us ready.
