opening day and invitations

what a weekend!  i knew it was going to be busy, we had a lot of things on our agenda as far as places to be and i was hopeful i'd get a few things crossed of my to-do list as well-so thankfully we made it to all of our "engagements" and did actually manage to get a few items crossed of the list. 

friday night hubs and i started working on doodle's birthday invitations-i had a few ideas on how i wanted them to look-i had purchased an invitation kit about 6 mos ago on clearance that was intended to be used for baby announcements-so this was my base, i knew i wanted to incorporate one of the photos that dawn had taken last week-i rushed to get to michael's craft store on friday night-i had 20 minutes to grab and go before they closed.  i think by midnight hubs and i had come up with an idea on how the invite was going to go-but still i needed to work on the invitation wording and the font-but we needed to get some sleep..saturday was a BUSY day.  so off the dreamland we went...

saturday was "opening day" for little league...they kicked off the festivites with a parade.  kman and his teammates walked the parade route tossing candy-he totally LOVED it!

thankfully the rain held off until the end of the ceremony and then it let loose.  it rained hard all the rest of the afternoon, so kman's scrimmage was canceled!  we had two birthday parties to attend that day, so after naps we were on our way.

yesterday hubs and i spent most of the day working on invitiations AGAIN; once we got the technical piece complete i had to assemble them.  which required LOTS of paper cutting, glueing, taping, etc... you get the picture.  they ended up turning out too darn cute though. 


hubs "borrowed" this paper cutter from work-its so on my list of MUST haves NOW!

i can't wait to get them out in the mail.  i still can't believe my little baby is going to be one-where the heck does the time go?

thankfully yesterday the weather was totally awesome and kman spent most of the day outside.  he is so loving playing with the neighbor kids.  sometimes i wonder if we made the right decision moving from our old house and now i am positive we made the right decision.  our old street had no kiddos for him-he has the opportunity for lots of friends now-YIPEE!
