doodle part 2

don't be jealous ladies, but kman scrubbed the toilet for me this morning, hmmm hmmm and he was totally proud of himself!  i heard him run in to tell hubs, "daddy guess what i did!"  if it hadn't been 6:30 in the a.m. i probably would have taken a darn picture of it!

as you know i am preparing for little doodle's 1st bday party this week and i am again taken back to last year at this time.  so, on this day last year it was a wednesday and i had indured another week of waiting...i had indured another week of questions from co-workers "you are still here?" and "you haven't had the baby yet?" (ahhh...HELLO-would you be talking to me if i had given birth?  oh yes, i had the baby last night-but was feeling so great; i decided to leave him or her and come into work, uh huh!)  i was being seen at my ob/gyn for my 39 week appointment (read all about the 38 week appt here if you are interested) and was so hopeful that "something", "anything" might be going on and that maybe just maybe it would require a trip to the hospital.  again; nothing to report and she certainly wasn't sending me to the hospital.  i asked her about being induced; because last week that was offered and she said "nope-let's what to see what happens, do you have a 41 week appointment scheduled?"  "EXSQUEEZEME?"  did she really think i was going to actually make it two more weeks?  OMG!!!!!!!!!  i probably could have cried right then and there.

i will say i am pretty sure she "stirred the pot" a little during her exam and since a full moon was happening that eve (she didn't comment on that herself; but i was looking into every possible way to get the baby to budge and was hopeful that the moon could help-just a bit-please, oh please)  i had been at 2cm for a few weeks and there wasn't much change beyond that.  (i think last week i said i couldn't remember, so i went back and looked and at 37 weeks i was 2cm)

sooo....i made my 41 week appointment on the way out and...proceeded to make my calls-which only upset me more.  i think i sent text messages to most of the people; because i just couldn't bear to actually have to call and tell them...i was already in tears.  the waiting is so hard...i know that the best thing for the baby is to stay nice and cozy and warm as long as possible-but i was so ready to meet him or her.  i think i was tired and exhausted and totally done with everything.  i don't exactly remember what i did that evening but i know i decided to take the next day off work.

of course, EVERYONE thought i went into labor...but i just slept in, layed around in my pjs for the day watching tv, catching up on my shows and honestly by the end of the that day i felt totally rejevinated.  i had, had my moment to breakdown and now i was just ready to wait.  i needed a day off.

hubs wasn't quite ready for the baby yet and i don't think he really quite "got" why i had been so upset-but he totally recognized how exhausted i was and i must say he's taken wonderful care of me both times.  extreme morning sickness and fatigue, especially with #2 and he definately picked up the slack for me.  so ....we're still waiting.  :)
