last night i took kman to swim lessons and we rushed through the locker rooms (which starts to become a different problem...i've been walking him through the "girls family bathroom" and i don't think that's a good way to go anymore-eyes wondering too much...if you know what i mean) anywho...we get in the pool area, get him ready and we are waiting for the last class to end and his to get called up next. as soon as the teacher calls them over, i say "ok let's go" he immediately says "no...i don't want too!" UMMM....what?
What do you mean you don't want to? we've been doing these sessions for months now and suddenly he doesn't want to do it? i really didn't know what to do. i tried to coax him a few times and he basically said he wanted to go home. finally i convinced him to watch for a few minutes...FINALLY after a call to daddy, recognizing the teacher from a few sessions ago and me promising to watch close by...which isn't allowed-the parents are supposed to sit in the bleachers on the other side of the pool-he went in...and had a GREAT time.
i don't really know what the problem was and he never really told us...but hopefully next week won't be an issue. tonight we are supposed to sign him up for t-ball and now i am having second thoughts...surely he won't act the same way at t-ball? or surely he will :) on the way home i tried to reason with him and explain that it was much more fun to "do" than to watch. sometimes i wish i would take my own advice.
yesterday i made a small first step in what will hopefully become something much bigger. EXCITING!
more to come...
for kman and i....
